Loren Kajikawa

Loren Kajikawa teaches musicology and ethnomusicology courses in the School of Music and Dance at the University of Oregon, where he also serves as a participating member of the Ethnic Studies Department. He is the editor-in-chief of Journal of the Society for American Music as well as co-series editor of Tracking Pop for University of Michigan Press. His book Sounding Race in Rap Songs (University of California, 2015) explores the relationship between hip hop beats and racial representation.
